Same at ATL….mostly because the people runni by CLEAR there don’t know what’s going on.
I went through just the CLEAR line a few months ago and it was a breeze

I’ve gone back to skipping clear and using regular pre-check at EWR.
Weird - I've never had a remotely negative experience with clear, although my home base is Boston, which already has some of the best TSA wait times in the country

I’m based out of DC and it’s often the case that the Clear line at IAD is longer. Have tested this countless times since my wife doesn’t have it and we compare how long each line takes. Even when Clear is faster, it wins by 2-3 minutes tops.
They need to raise the price for CLEAR
D3: I can't speak for CLEAR, but Pre-Check is mostly intended to make TSA more efficient. Focusing fewer resources on the vast majority of people who don't need invasive screening, and shifting resources to more closely watch the remainder, helps make lines move faster, improve passenger experiences, and ultimately make everyone much safer.
Ask your colleagues - they're the ones who designed it!

I was at IAD last night and went through regular line instead of Clear/precheck. I finished my security in 3 minutes. They even told me that I don’t have to remove my shoes.
Used to fly out of iad all the time when I lived there. Line moves faster

This is true in sfo too so frustrating
I’m flying out tomorrow, but out of DCA. Crossing my fingers that it will be quick
DCA feels like it's got a higher percentage of business travelers - the pre lines feel very on the ball the fast moving unlike say an MCO/FLL/MIA with leisure travelers, families with kids, seniors who don't seem familiar with "pre check".
BWI is a bit out of the way but I've done it in a pinch.
