Anyone from Boston Consulting Group Boston Consulting Group (BCG) working in non-consulting - Technology/Engineering/Global Services?
How's the work life balance? Glassdoor reviews are full of "long working hours" and hence wanted to know if it's the same with non-consulting folks as well?
How far is it true across the organisation?
Please help me shed some light to decide.
Thanks.

I’m a new associate at FDD, would love to connect!
PwC FDD ≠ WLB, nice try though
I’m not surprised give the demands in our sector. But there’s only one way to fix that problem. So here I am.
I would advise against ever switching firms because of comp. If you haven’t figured it out yet, we’re all the same broadly speaking. So maybe you can find an anomaly for a one year bump but it will disappear just as quickly beyond that. IMO, If you want to find an enjoyable career in FDD, I recommend three things: (1) focus on a sector that interests you, (2) find a Partner/team that you respect and respects you, and (3) get beyond the surface with relationships at your clients. You get 2 out of those 3 and you’ll stop chasing comp.
Exactly .. pay me fairly and I’ll be loyal. Otherwise What incentive do I have to be?
Does this practice plan to pay more or should we continue to be treated second class to others Deal’s colleagues in DS, DDV and MC?
Partner, that’s a fair statement that honors you, other partner’s answers I have heard are: “their skills are better than yours” (then why the client pay the same or less?), “you are easy to replace as compare to MC” (something that I agree at lower level but not manager an beyond. It literally imposible to replace a manager or above going to the market at our current pay, I don’t know anyone who joined at that level despite constantly searching and offering bonus), so that’s a lie.
Regarding about you can’t do anything, I am sure if a few deals partner get together and pressure the lead team it could get somewhere. Being a partner right now must be scary having to sign off deals that are mostly done with people of less than 1 year of experience.
This pays system is only like this in the US in Europe for example, FDD is getting paid a lot more than MC since the compensation is based on the performance and margin of the department. It does not make any sense to pay more to people who generate equal or less. I also like my job in FDD a lot but this it’s frustrating me more and more…
translation: "we are DESPERATE for talent because NONE of the PROMISES I've listed here came true for EVERYONE that has QUIT!!"
Literally everyone I know in pwc FDD manager and above has left from another job or is waiting for the bonus to leave. I would love to see what those “national” people who decide the salary think about this and how far are they going to keep pushing this situation to keep their pockets full as we are the most profitable department in pwc.
Will you take someone from tax :)
I am interested and also from tax.
There’s a difference between comp chasing and being underpaid. Example, this past year, my peers and I were regularly on 6+ deals and I was paid <$130 as an M3 in a MCOL city.
I went from upset about it to down right insulted.
How many deals do your SMs have going at the same time?
SM here, trust me… a lot and I never had a director in any of my deals and partner MIA. Lost a lot of hair in the LTM…
Currently in audit - any process to follow if interested in an internal transfer?
Can you shoot me a DM and I’ll send you my email?
Wouldn’t you say it’s more client and Partner specific??
Thank you, recently left the firm unfortunately! Good luck though, sounds like you are one of the few partners who does/will look out for juniors!
It's for US?
I’m in healthcare FDD at a different B4 firm. Do you think WLB would be better at PwC?
Don’t do it. This industry is ruthless.
Very interested! Just DM’d
