I’m an SC but have no MBA. At this point (29, married and expecting kids, have a house) is it worth it for me to pursue an MBA? I have a lot of family responsibility coming up so not sure if I can afford losing income for 2yrs and take on 100k+ in debt. Am I thinking too short sighted? Will having an MBA have a dramatic impact on my career here at Deloitte? Figuring this out is my New Years resolution next year.

Got messaged by a C3 . ai recruiter. Read that wlb is bad and that the interview process is absurdly long, but the Glassdoor reviews are 4.2 and can't find actual hours worked posted by anyone. How's the culture really? I'd be aiming for DS consulting, something more functional but with DS/ML concepts as my differentiator.

Total cost is ~12k. Almost done with the program and think it’s worth it, especially for the price. I couldn’t imagine spending 40-50k more for other programs.
It is a commitment though and can take 3-4 years to finish.
A coworker did it a spoke very highly of it. I can tell he really knows his stuff too.
I’m in it, and yes really only 12k (give or take)
It’s an awesome program. Even better, you can take the first three classes for credit before you even apply. They are serious analytics classes though and the cost is not reflective of the program.
“Worth it” is really a personal question. I am doing it to move from analytics consulting (which is basically just fluff. Lots of functional talk about how can companies should use their data) to a core data science role. Will I see an immediate ROI? Probably not. No one is going to hire me as an entry level DS at my wildly overpaid consulting salary of 165k for 4 yoe.
But I could probably get close or more with base + equity. However, wlb will be better and I really enjoy the work.
Btw, most people who are in it call it the OMSA. Check out the subreddit, TONS of great info for prospective students. reddit.com/r/OMSA
I’m also in it. It’s only my first semester but I like how the program is designed. Yes, it’s really 12k. A 3-credit class is like $936 for tuition + technology fees. They say there is no difference between the online and the on-campus. The diploma won’t say it online either.
