never hurts to give the notice. if the current company doesn't want it, they will release you, but at least you did the right thing.
Offer the 2 weeks they might not take it and let u go early.... but unless you can financially afford to quit without another job hang on. Does the company have employee assistance program , they can talk it out and make the HELL tolable. Good luck. You got this
You have another job lined up, give the notice in case you ever need to go back for whatever reason. It’s always good to have an unburned bridge
You must be at Allstate or National General. Bless your heart. Don’t bother with the notice.
I came close to doing that once but I didn’t have anything else lined up because I needed a paycheck. I stick it out until I got another offer. At the end they were surprised that I wanted to leave. Ha! My mental health was pretty much gone at that point. But also know the grass is not always greener on the other side. I was lucky enough to find another company that actually treat me like a human being.
I am so afraid I won’t find another big insurance company who treats employees well and the pay matches.
I'm not the right one to ask I guess lol. I work a job until I have another lined up. I worked a job I hated for 4 years once.
As someone who manages people getting at least some notice helps those who are left behind to minimize their inconvenience.
If you dislike the job and people so much that you want to make a statement then leaving without notice will do that.
If there are some individuals you do like then giving notice will make things easier on them.
If there’s any chance that you might professionally cross paths with anyone from your current job in the future then giving notice would be wise.
If often found at a new company 2 months isn’t enough time to determine if it’s right. You’re learning a lot of new things and can give you a false sense of worth and contribution. Also learning a new boss and expectations. I’d say give it 6 months but I’d also be applying just in case.
if its a boss problem its pretty immediate, at least for me. I have had the good bad and the absolute evil. I can smell an insecure boss 10 miles away. I can sense when I am being blatantly set up to fail quickly now too. Its really not fair when that happens sometimes these people didn't get to choose who they wanted to hire. Thats when it can happen. I have had the micromanaging as well, annoying but manageable
You answered your own question - “it’s the right thing to do”
Yes give 2 weeks notice, dont forget Integrity is major
If I may ask what company is it?
If you definitely have this new job, start date and everything yeah probably. Don't burn bridges unnecessarily.
If you are going to a competitor, they will likely escort you out anyway but yes, notice is the right thing to do.
I never burn bridges. I always give notice and get as much work done as if I am not leaving.
The grass isn't usually greener on the other side. But since I always gave notice and did my job so good , I have worked for some ar least twice.
If you don't ever plan on going back just quit, because they would fire you with no notice, so why would you!!! And I hope your new job is wonderful!!!
Sometimes we have to struggle many times to know if its the right job just like any other situations out there. But depending on what exactly your job is. It It gets easier once you pass your difficulties
.. Everyone who start a new job always difficult, new environment. New team, new attitide and you just have to learn to take it in until you beome just like them.. It's not because its hard that you have to let it go. 21 years to a job that I love very much but had to quit and been in sales for 3 years. KNOW nothing AND no experienced I just thought i would be amazing at it. In suit..after 7 months ...and I love it.. APPLY THE FAKE IT 'TIL YOU MAKE IT:)
