How do you all deal with the guilt of leaving a comany/ team? I have been working at Microsoft for 1 year now, and seriously considering moving. I find the code base to be very legacy and I mostly work on obscure bugs that I spend so much time on, mostly due to navigating this large code base and not having much docs to refer to. Hence I find the job slightly unsatisfying, and that I could learn more elsewhere. However, I love the wlb, the team and company culture. The guilt stops my applying.
Do you prefer high base comp or RSU?

I'm often back to back for 10-12 hours, and have a ton of things to respond to bc I've been back to back, and have deliverables to review and my own work to own and do. Sometimes finding all the info that needs to go into an email takes time, and having someone draft something for me is one less thing I need to do after hours (and gets that email out a lot sooner!)

Depends on the lot on the context but it’s delegation 101 in most cases. Usually if it’s a recurring client request (example - status update), I’ll have one of my associates do it. I’d spend time coaching them for the first few times until they are able to handle it on their own and take it off of my plate
If I ask someone to write an email for me, it is because the person I’m asking knows more of the context and details - so faster for them to put it down than for me try to go through messages and get details only to have to ask for corrections. Then I can polish. Also I usually share the final version and where I have made edits, so that helps the team in becoming better communicators.

These are low down on my priority list- but still need to be done rather timely. Either I do it at 2am, or I take my analysts ghost writen note and send it out during a call hours earlier….
I support gov (federal), love when the Govy lead tells me in an email what to say then says send it… obviously I spice it up.. but like you went that far to type it out to me, just finish the thought and send it…
Right !? Haha I feel like I’m a child when my mom would force me to write out thank you cards as a kid….

To flex my power and authority. Jk. But sadly people do this.
Thanks everyone! I appreciate a bit of perspective from the other side of the fence 😁
