Hi Fishes, I grabbed an offer at Accenture with 12 LPA fixed for Level 9. I'm not getting a retention offer from my current company at 13.5 lpa. How do I go about a counter offer with Accenture HR? Also tell me how to approach this situation smoothly.
If HR doesn't fulfill the counter offer, is it ok to accept 12 lpa fixed for Level 9 and when will I get a hike here and how much would it be approximately?
Accenture Please provide your insights. This is my first switch so I ne more exposure
Bain & Company Hello Fishes.
What is the average CTC offered for a Research Associate with 1 year of experience in Healthcare consulting?
I'm looking forward for opportunities, hence would be great to know the current CTC trends to effectively negotiate with the employer.
Thanks in advance!

Hi all! Looking for a roomie in Culver City. New Yorker getting into the startup life and transitioning from data engineering to data science.

I tend to overwork myself and it’s really taking a toll on my mental well-being. I want to learn a lot and prove myself to my superiors so that they recognize me/see value. Now my work has a sense of dread to it. I watched my parents be workaholics growing up, so it’s all I know. I’m also goal-oriented and driven, so achieving a lot scratches that itch for me. But, it’s making me want to quit cause I’m burned out and depressed….im not sure what to do. Any suggestions would be helpful.

40L is reasonable I think

I think 40 is the upper limit for a vp position
40lpa is reasonable. Our managers at K, I know a couple who are in the 25-40lpa base range with 7-10ish years of experience. Well funded startups should definitely pay higher.

Right I might ask for 45 then and see what happens
I’d say 40lpa is probably average (-). I’d want to balance it with the equity component.

Fair fair fair, yeah I think I’ll ask for a big number and then let them negotiate it with me. I’m thinking I’ll use MBA as that option to move back A1 in case it all goes south
VPs at established start ups like Flipkart, etc. can make more than 1Cr. I would suggest pricing yourself at 70-80L and then back into cash + equity.
Depends what you’re comparing against. Indian startups hire a lot from IIT/IIMs. With 5 years of work ex from either of the two people make upwards of 50L in India.
Managers at MBB make upwards of 70L in India.
Given you’re Ivy CS, would suggest 50+ is a better comparison for you.
MBB consultants would make close 50L but the WLB in India is quite bad. So 55 is a good ask. I would even go as high as 60.
On that note, the start up work culture in India is also not that good and often quite unstructured specially if it’s a new company.
I would also like to caution you that given you’ve never worked in India, you should plan for an uphill task for the first couple of years because Indian working culture is no where close to US or UK. So keep that in mind when negotiating and use that as a leverage. For eg; say that you’ll need to spend more on house help or staying close to office because you can’t navigate Indian traffic or will need to work more initially etc.
