Invited to a recruiting/networking session for an analyst level role at a Bain Capital. Excuse my naivete, but is business professional (full suit) the expectation here? Unfortunately my only well fitting suit was torn recently so trying to see if I can get away with another outfit

I’ve been working for a small investment firm for about a year and am having some issues with my boss. We have a weekly check-in but he’s ALWAYS 2-3 hours late, or skips the meeting altogether without warning. He also never replies to any of the emails I send. I already spoke with him about these issues, but things haven’t really changed. I really like the work I do but I’m starting to feel frustrated about the situation. Any advice? Or anyone else in a similar situation?

Asked a senior to help write up an analysis for a specific query. Guided them on what to consider. They wrote. one. scentence... and considered it job done. What do I eveeeeeeen say. (I just added a comment -plz expand.. am I partner now)

What’s the best way of selling work to your boss if he’s just not current on new stuff? I keep getting handed references from some directors from 10 years ago and I want to say “hey, what about something from this year, not last century”

Small firm (my boss, me, & a paralegal). After a hearing I did not handle, boss intended to seek review of the ruling in its entirety. What was communicated to me by paralegal was to seek review of a portion.

Seeking review is now time-barred. Boss is not upset, but this is 1 case & 1 problem. There are other cases & other stories.

I started working for a new law firm, much larger than the firm I was working for previously. The main attorney that I work under had noticed some mistakes I was making (I am a NY paralegal who took this position with the understanding that they’d be teaching me NJ and NYC real estate). Anyways, the attorney decided to tell the HR manager about the mistakes I had been making. Rather than HR discussing with me, the manager told my dramatic coworker to tell me..how should I handle this? Very hurt!
