Received ECT AD in ops at BCG. I have two questions:
1. Is it difficult for these roles to get utilization/billability targets?
2. If I work for say 3-5 years, opportunity for good industry exits?

I’m a Junior at Colgate University and have been heavily searching for a summer 2022 internship since October of 2021. I have had countless networking calls with various alumni in different professions and have learned plenty of great information, but have not gotten lucky enough to find an internship. Ex-consultant now in marketing. Used to be an avid follower here and got great insights on companies when trying to exit consulting so thought I’d try here for advice. Outside of FAANG, what are good large CA-based tech companies that provide good pay, WLB, and culture? DD has great people and WLB, but pay is low and you’re not given the tools and resources to succeed + truly make an impact. Google and Apple are ideal but need backups. Like is Salesforce still good? A company along those lines.

I’ve heard that AP/Principal/SM (the level immediately below Partner) is the hardest place to exit. Is this the prevailing wisdom you’ve heard, and why is it so difficult to exit at that level?

Received offer from BCG for ECT AD role. Read numerous comments about ECT being not attractive compared to Generalists track. Also heard challenges about billability/utilization. Any views/guidance is appreciated.
