Received ECT AD in ops at BCG. I have two questions:
1. Is it difficult for these roles to get utilization/billability targets?
2. If I work for say 3-5 years, opportunity for good industry exits?

Background - 15 YOE. Currently Director at global firm. I am not looking to become an equity partner and happy to focus on content and interesting work. Main reason to join is opportunity to work and learn from different clients, smart people and good brand. Feedback/guidance/insights welcome!

Hi - in the expert track, feel free to DM. But bottomline 1. It could be - does really depend on your sponsor/pyramid you are joining and how your practice is used to work with experts. 2. For sure - all the reasons you mentioned below for joining are valid for the opportunities as well, as more network, potential to be an entrepreneur if you want and build your own thing but with the means of BCG.

Just FYI: you can’t become equity partner in the expert track anyways - if you want that you would have to switch to general track.

Hi, is the ECT interview process at BCG the conventional case interviews and general in-person interview process, or is the interview more tailored towards the candidate's technical experience or expertise?

Ex-consultant now in marketing. Used to be an avid follower here and got great insights on companies when trying to exit consulting so thought I’d try here for advice. Outside of FAANG, what are good large CA-based tech companies that provide good pay, WLB, and culture? DD has great people and WLB, but pay is low and you’re not given the tools and resources to succeed + truly make an impact. Google and Apple are ideal but need backups. Like is Salesforce still good? A company along those lines.

9 YOE (6.5 in consulting, 2.5 in BU strategy and M&A). Involved in end-to-end process (incl. modeling) but processes largely led by Corporate M&A team. 3 tuck-ins completed (all in 2022).

Options considering:
1/ Continue current path, stack more deal experience, strong chance of Director promo in 3-6 months
2/ Don’t wait, just jump or apply to other roles
3/ Study and go back to grab MBA (considering MIT or Stanford MSX - 1 YR)

TC: 175K (…low)
