Not too many step down opportunities from where you are.
100k raise and you’re worried about a step down?
100 just for the first couple years with a equity cliff or permanent?
And in my case I took the step down(L4 in non tech with 15 YOE). I personally think I’ll get promoted in a couple of years anyways so why refuse the extra cash. Plus I will get to conc on my family and enjoy the better wlb as I’ll be performing way below my level.
Seems about right tbh

Coming from big 4 and also another tech consulting firm - I can tell you that consulting firms by default over sell their own employees on their tech skills.
My guess is that you are a engineering L3.
You could aim for gcp and see if you can get an L4. Traditionally our engineering teams have been some of the harder teams to join
As a conciliation prize - the promo cycle could be 18 months
Seriously?!
L3 to L4 isn't a difficult promotion (attainable within 2 - 4 years) so if you are getting a substantial raise and a better brand, I think this is a great next step for you.
If you don't mind me asking, what's comp package did they offer? I'm surprised it would be that big of a increase over your current role unless you are severely underpaid at EY.
What is your TC? If $200k it seems obscenely high for L3.

Anyone looking at this as a statement on how little in the way of tech skills the big 4 teach their people.
