Recession? Thoughts? Who was around in 2009? Half of my class got laid off

Most likely getting fired, tips on how to find a job ASAP? I made a pretty big mistake that required supplemental filings with government offices to fix (missed some items when reviewing/comparing long lists of things across 20-30 years). It’s fixable and the client isn’t really getting hurt by this (worst case signing gets delayed), but my anxiety is telling me to prepare for the worst. Can I ask for extra time at the firm to find a new job (so I wasn’t “fired”)? Or should I go for severance?

Hi, I am an engineer with a master degree . I worked for more than a decade as an engineer. I then switched to product marketing through mba. I was recently laid off from a series B startup . I have 3 years gap due to mba and children. I am 44 . I know I am way way behind in my career. I have an upcoming interview . The position is product manager ( 175k base + yearly bonus, no stock ) . I feel I will never catch up :( Any word of advice or positivity greatly appreciated.
