Recruiter reached out from West Monroe so doing some research. Reading a lot about how great the culture is but no specifics on what that means. Would love more info..

I’m in that practice as well and in Chicago. DM me if you want more information. It’s a great place, wouldn’t choose to be anywhere else.

Pay is probably a little low if you just look at salary, but we do have an ESOP program that has created significant wealth over the last few years.

High performers can come in and make a big impact in the right practice, but be very clear before you join who you’ll be reporting to and make sure you like that person

Good company culture means we truly place value on our people from both a work and personal point of view. The norm is collaboration, much less sharky than Big4. I came from Big4 after a good career.

And EY1, pay is comparable to Big4 except at Partner level.

Check out our Fischer Fellowship. Up to 6 months off with half your salary to volunteer for a meaningful cause. Best thing I’ve done. 🌎

As someone coming from running my own business for a decade before coming to WMP, I will agree the pay may not be the best but they more than make up for it. Salary is around (in my experience) 70% of total comp when you add in bonus, esop, and other benefits. The people really are great to work with - we have some fabulous people that are always willing to teach you something new while not making you feel lesser. Most directors really do care about your work life balance. I may volunteer to work a little too much and was recently told to stop working on the weekends and just say no (by a senior director). They want you happy - not burned out. So if you want a happy life and money isn't the only thing out there then WMP is the right choice.

Agreed with everything said but would also say it varies by office as well as practice. Our Chicago office culture is pretty different than West Coast, mostly due to size of offices, IMO. I think our West coast offices and leadership is pretty stellar. I work with a Sr Director daily and feel like leadership truly values me as a person and an employee. I love it and can’t see myself going anywhere else. The people really are great. We jokingly say we don’t hire assholes, which I’ve seen be true. My team got practically cut in half in a year due to people not being a culture fit. They were fine performers but they didn’t belong so they either left or were pushed out.

like

Have only worked with them on one engagement, but with a large team, and have been pretty consistently impressed with their people — both from quality of work and culture standpoint

like

Which practice?

They are just OK. Sell culture a lot, but it’s really hit or miss. Pay sucks.

Eh, really depends on the practice

There are plenty of pros and cons. That being said, I agree with most of what has been said here

I personally am losing (or have lost) faith in senior leadership, that's my biggest concern

If you want more details feel free to DM me! (Not a recruiter, happy to speak candidly about what I know)

This is helpful info. CRM practice, btw. Anything specific to know about that?

Ehh, that’s (kind of) my practice. What office?

Higher offers at 27-28 with more fixed pay is from contract and hire/fire type companies. Mostly indirect hiring instead of direct employment with the final employer, means higher pay with lower jon security - we get little more pay, companies get the option to let go with ease later!

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
