I’ve been out of work for a significant amount of time due to Covid decimating my industry. I’ve gone on many interviews and had a few final rounds. I finally received an offer today. The pay is more than I’ve ever made & team seems great. I just can’t help but feel a little disappointed bc it’s not the industry I was in before which was the whole reason I went to law school to begin with. A bird in hand is worth two in the bush, right? Anyone experience a similar situation? Happy you pivoted?

Hello fishes, i am set to join Accenture as a Cloud Data Architect . However the Job Profile offered is Data Engineering -AM & job Family Group is Analytics and Insights. The JD shared during the interview says : Project Role Description : Assists with the data platform blueprint and design and Key responsibilities is a. Pre-sales and solution ownership of sales pursuits data analytics related services for cloud b. Own end to end RFP or RFI etc. Does it mean work is on presales only ?

During the interview, If the interviewer recommended you to talk to somebody else in the firm but not the original rescheduled interviewers,what does that mean? After the recommendation, he stopped asking me questions. And the conversation only covered about 60% of the whole interview timeline. Shall I follow up with him about the ‘mentioned talk’?

I interviewed for an internal opportunity a couple weeks ago (Engineer w/ 4 YOE to Product Manager role). There were a few other internal candidates, and I have not heard anything since the interview other than "we are still waiting on approval on some things from the president, but he has been out on vacation, say hang tight." That was last Monday and have not heard anything since then. Should I assume that I did not get the position? What is the typical turnaround time for internal ops?

I left my old job the end of January (due to compensation) and hate my new job. I don’t sleep and am constantly stressed. I have been interviewing since May, but I can’t seem to find a good fit that has an insurance Plan that fits my needs. I am thinking about reaching out to my old job (very small and tight knit) to see if there’s a position available for me still. Wanted to share about my job search experience, and happy to answer any questions. Over the last 18 months interviewed with the following companies and failed - McKinsey, BCG, KPMG, Oracle, Google, Invesco, Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, Amazon, North highland, Microfocus, Atlassian, Orange, equifax, and a few others. Most of these are senior level positions, so interviews were tough. Didn’t get the job for one or the other reason. Finally accepted a offer with a large tech company. Keep on trying..

The work here is too stressful and there is absolutely zero WLB. So I decided to start looking out again. However I am not getting good interview calls. Are most companies not hiring now ? Or could it because my CTC is too high ?

Is it worth it to go back to school for a better track to a FAANG company? I have 7 YOE and applied for a position that is L4. I feel as if I’m overqualified for the position, but the Recruiter told me that when they say L4, they are actually looking for someone with 6+ years of experience. Is this true? I feel like I should be looking at L5 with my experience

Just had a phone screen today for the Account Strategist role. The recruiter said that the target level is l3 or l4 (I have 5+ yoe in performance marketing). Should I push for l4? Additionally, how long does it usually take before I hear back from the recruiter. Thank you!

So this might be a better place to post this and ask this question: Uncle D has announced explicitly that most people won’t get a pay raise & bonus this year except for those promoted and high performers. Amid this crisis, are companies including other big 3, MBB, FAANG, boutique consulting firms still giving high raises and issue stocks? Can you share the impact from your firm?

Does B4 let people go the same day as their resignation only if they’re going to a direct competitor? How about MBB or a tier 2 consulting firm?

Have people been let go immediately in case they go to FAANG or other industry firms?

Currently a third year Senior, but looking to jump. How likely can I get an offer as manager at another firm?

What can I do outside the office to boost my resume and be a substantially more attractive candidate for top consulting firms in ~12 months time. Working in disputes and valuation role but want to go into management consulting next year (post MBA role). I feel like my job isn’t enough because skills aren’t considered as transferable outside this field.
