S& or EY-P? Better WLB, projects and culture? Who travels more/less?

Will probably apply to both but just hoping to get some differentiating info ahead of time. Really trying to find somewhere I can get broader industry experience. Any insights and/or advice appreciated!

We probably have better projects. Pay is equal more or less. Everything else is “it depends”.

I’m very proud of our mentorship culture. It’s a lot of tough love and blunt feedback, but I think our junior staff come out really strong.

helpful

It’s paraphrased but I’m just being fully transparent on it

I personally chose EYP over S& because of culture but that can depend on where you're located and what group you work in. Projects and WLB are comparable but we do lot more CDD work, which means we travel less.

SM on my project stepped away on paternity leave. SM was the one who led partner discussions and most of the client meetings. We're a week from a client deadline.

As a manager, I'm stepping but incredibly stress with the amount of moving parts. I don't have a strong rapport with the partner (Neither did the SM) to be open and transparent on how stressful I'm feeling without downgrading myself.

I'm sick to the stomach and very anxious, stressed at the suddenness of the thrust.

Asking for a friend:
My friend received two job offers for Account Executive roles: a Mid-Market role with Confluent and an Enterprise role with ThoughtSpot. He’s conflicted because Confluent is a more established company, ThoughtSpot is Pre-IPO. Confluent is a lucrative product to sell and has established SDR reps so there’s a good blend of inbound and outbound sales. Thoughtspot is more of a startup culture where most of the sales comes from outbound and it’s a tougher sell.

Intl Tax folks, how long did it take before you were confident in your role? I've worked for the past 3 years in a practice that is heavily consulting based (inbound and outbound structuring) and I feel like I'm only just starting to understand the foundational concepts (where I can explain them clearly to clients) and offering a shred of value. Then I'll have calls where partners discuss complex tax, legal, treasury and other related concepts that all go over my head.. it becomes overwhelming
