Seeing half the class of Wharton 2025 grads still searching for work…is it worth pursuing an MBA in 2026-2027?

What qualifications did you have when applying for MBA programs? Side non-profit work? Volunteering? Other involvements? Seems like meaningful commitments outside of consulting can be difficult with the work hours, but not sure if firm involvement is “enough” to be a strong applicant. Thank you!

I have been working remotely since covid getting nothing but positive reviews. My company is not remote friendly and is now telling me I have to return to the office or I lose my job. I just found out a co-worker had a remote position created for them, without a job posting, without an interview and without the experience required (normally a license or certification would be mandatory). I understand life isn’t fair but is there an ethical problem with this?

What can I do outside the office to boost my resume and be a substantially more attractive candidate for top consulting firms in ~12 months time. Working in disputes and valuation role but want to go into management consulting next year (post MBA role). I feel like my job isn’t enough because skills aren’t considered as transferable outside this field.

I have been accepted for prince 2 foundation + practitioner (accelerated) course in sabacloud. This course is delivered by sure skills. Anyone has taken this course? Do we give a test at the end of this course or do we get prince2 certification for attendance? I’m trying to evaluate if this course is worth attending for 3 full working days - i.e do I need to attend this course to become eligible for giving a prince2 exam or attending the course itself suffice?

Wonder if anyone can offer advice on which cert to pursue next? I obtained my CompTIA Security+ last year and wondering if I should go for the CySA+ or Pentest+ next. Why would you ever want to rollover your 401K into an IRA? It seems like doing so would essentially prevent you from successfully being able to do a IRA to Backdoor Roth IRA conversion due to the pro-rata rule. Am I missing something? Wouldn’t you always want to just rollover your old 401Ks to your new 401K?

Does an MBA (US) make sense for me? Male, Indian, Age 32, Married working in tech consulting with 10 YOE. Base is $165 with steady increases and bonus is typically 15%. I eventually do want to cross the $300K threshold but I know stopping work for 2 years and getting and MBA probably won’t get me a $300K job right away. Becoming a manger in my current company/path will probably get me there in terms of TC. Also considering EMBA from a good school (Wharton Global, Duke, Kellogg, Booth).

Interviewing question: for anecdotal “tell me abt a time when..”, & similar questions - are you allowed to recycle stories from your undergrad years or do they only look for post grad/work stuff? Afraid some of the stories that sounded okay at undergrad recruiting might now come across as a bit “lightweight” in this context...like would they eye roll if we start talking about that one time we did a science competition sophomore year of college (even though it taught an important lesson)..etc.🤔
