Try HIIT workouts for both strength training and cardio, then wrap it up with stretching
Unfortunately I don’t enjoy most HIIT workouts, and so end up never sticking to a HIIT workout plan. I have a much easier time maintaining running, peloton, Pilates, and yoga schedules.
Boxing
Peloton app has the 30 mins boxing that I do. Have you tried it?
I love Pilates but had the same issue. I was having some success with am Pilates and lunch time runs but I really don’t have the time to maintain that. I’m taking a break from Pilates and am currently doing heavy compound weight training and end with 15-20 mins of hiit 4 days per week. Then I do 2 days of yoga and 1 true recovery day.
Interesting, I’ve been doing afternoon Pilates and lunch runs and that hasn’t been working so well — maybe I’ll give a morning Pilates schedule a shot
i do F45 but it’s pricey. they alternate between cardio and strength training
so it’s alternating days of cardio and strength. on cardio days there are some strength exercises but it’s cardio focus.
Consider half length strength half length cardio together? Probably not an option if you are dependent on studios / class instructors however
If you’re on social media, Peloton instructor Ben Aldis posts (on his instagram) a monthly challenge that combines bike, strength and stretching. It’s basically 50 minutes a day, 4 times a week. Like 20 mins cycling (you could swap in running), 20 mins strength (1 day upper body, 1 day lower body, 1 day core, for example) and 10 mins stretching (you could do yoga for your stretching). Peloton app has Pilates, yoga and strength training classes, have you tried doing all your exercises in 1 app instead of many?
I love the peloton app! That’s where I get all of my workouts except for Pilates which I do in a studio. I’ll check out Aldis’s plan!
I do long walks/jogs to Pilates and/or the gym as they’re about a mile from me. Is that an option?
Kettlebell complexes.
Why not do strength first to prime and cardio after on the same day? For example, a class or set of exercises, and then your run?
