Maternity leave + start looking during the leave.

Take maternity leave, enjoy your baby, and then switch groups and/or look for another firm when you're back.

As someone who lateraled when pregnant, it can be done, but obviously the biggest concern is making sure you get your full mat leave despite not having been with the firm for X period. That can be negotiated in your offer letter, but the chances of success with that likely depend on whether you're in a specialized practice area, the firm is trying to grow a practice and investing in you is seen as strategic long-term, etc. It's also an easier conversation the earlier you are in your pregnancy and thus the more time they'd have you before going out. There's no harm in at least exploring the market and potential options - doesn't mean you have to make a move now.
If you don't move before going out on mat leave, your best bet is probably sticking it out another year or two and trying to branch out within your current firm before ultimately lateraling. I don't say this to scare you, but applying for jobs and going through a lateral process postpartum is not realistic (at least it wouldn't have been for me). You are literally in survival mode, very sleep deprived, and I would not have had the mental energy or time to go through what can be a very demanding process. Of course, it may be easier if you have an "in" at the new firm and your process would be streamlined because of that. Happy to chat further if you'd like to PM me.
Address it respectfully but directly with the partner.
Either you'll learn something in the process, or help them re-think and/or clarify the position.
If you want to take the next step and become a partner, it's important to be able to have hard conversations (and become someone that will challenge them on things)
I have no issues with hard conversations. I have attempted to and they are the type of people who hate being challenged. Even when the judge chewed them out for being incorrect and misrepping an order.
