Hi, I am new to Canada and currently living in Vancouver, BC. I was looking for opportunities in the Financial Services industry in the Metro Vancouver Area. I have about 3 years of experience in the Banking/Financial Services and HealthTech industry and worked alongside IBM and PwC in developing and implementing cutting-edge FinTech products for business clients of a Financial Institution and led the Finance and data science team at a Health tech startup. Let me know if anyone can help me.

Don’t give up. I was in your same position 3 years ago. I was miserable for several years and felt like I was never going to be able to go in-house. But it finally happened. Keep trying! The first one is always the toughest to get.
Thank you, this was encouraging!
Work your LinkedIn and line up informational interviews. Narrowing your in house interests will narrow and focus your search. Most in house attorneys I know got their first in house position through heir network, not traditional channels. Those I know who did it through ordinary applications sent out dozens and dozens of applications before getting a single hit. Litigation is a tough one to transition from, but your skills are incredibly valuable. Keep at it—you just need one! Good luck!
This was my experience- I have no network in a newish city, but applied to like 60 jobs over a year. Finally got a few bites, had bad experiences with jobs being canceled after interviewing, and then got my current job after I forgot I even applied. It’s out there, just keep going
I feel this. Wish I had advice.
I second Counsel 1. Don’t give up - I felt similarly for years. I started at the DA’s office, spent 4 years there, transitioned to a small construction law firm for 2.5 years, followed by my current big law firm where I’ve been at 2 years. I’ve spent out hundreds of apps and had only one interview. My advice would be not only to network but never be afraid to reach out to someone even if you don’t know them and never give up. I asked someone at my firm (who was previously in-house) to connect me to that company for a position I was perfect for. Unfortunately they were already on final round interviews. I still applied anyways and had her email my resume. A month later they contacted me for an interview. Last week I got an offer. It’s my dream in-house role. What’s right for you and what is meant for you will happen exactly at the time it’s supposed to.
Thank you, and congratulations!
