I have received offer from Shell and SAP labs is in final stage salary discussion. Shell is offering 6 lacs more than @SAP labs. I have tried to negotiate a lot from SAP but they are not ready. They are putting conditions like give your full commitment to join then only we'll release offer letter. I am currently looking for work life balance with growth. Should I join @SAP considering its a Product based and good WLB and learning? Teck Stack - Java/Micro-services/cloud YOE - 11yrs

I’m just entering my fourth year of being licensed. I knew 9 months in it wasn’t for me. That was in January 2020 and then the pandemic hit. Not the best time to jump ship, but it gave me time to explore what was next, what was I passionate it, how I could leverage what I had with that goal.
The California Lawyers Association gave a free membership to to the Privacy Law Section, and I took it. That was December 2020. I started looking it the section, talked to some people in it, networked a lot, and got a lot of good feed back. One guy recommended I take the CIPP/US because it is a good foundation to show if I really wanted to do it. I loved it. I started writing for the Privacy Section in August 2021, got my CIPP/E in January 2022.
I started a job as a Compliance Program Manager - Privacy in April. I’m done with practicing.
The moment for me was when I walked out of court in January 2020 and realized that even when you had the best case, you could still lose because of a jackass judge.
Exactly!! bitch ass judge(s) is what threw me into a depressive state. That was in 2012 though and I still haven't found my way out. This bowl is helping me see the light. It's past time.

Do you have to be in the same state as the Thomson Reuters sales roles? Desperately looking to leave law.
