Serious question, should I announce on LinkedIn that I will be starting a new chapter in life and will be joining xyz company? I see many people do it but don’t understand the value of any.

Job transition question: I recently accepted an offer for a new role with Merrill Lynch, the following day I was fired from my previous employer. I haven’t filled out the updated work history background check info yet. The reason for termination was due to performance expectations not being met. Should I reach out to my new employer and let them know that I’ve been terminated? Should I just put the termination update on the background check form and leave it at that? Wondering what I should do.

Who has made the leap from working/living in the US to abroad? Any words of advice?
