I’ve been working as an APM at my current company for 1yr, and have basically been doing the work of a full blown PM the entire time. But they're saying that they'd discuss the offer only after the other company that I'm interviewing with has come up with an offer first. There's been a delay from HRs of the companies in a similar way. How do I urge them to send me the offer letter without sounding pushy? I had reached out to some of the HRs myself. Would that be too awkward if I accept & back out their offer?

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I like consulting but the multiple project workload sucks. I have 5 active projects and I’m barely scraping by on each one. I’m just surviving week by week. I could do such an amazing job on these projects if I had 2-3 instead. Sucks
