Did you think about this? Just curious what you came up with before you posted.
If you are at my firm, you definitely should.
If the school is a good one I would use that. Otherwise use personal. Definitely not work email—they have access to that. Pretty common sense advice ...
Do you guys actually think big law firms are actively monitoring associates' emails? Certainly the partners are not. I can't even get partners to read urgent client-related emails in a timely fashion. Someone from HR or IT then? Manual monitoring is out of the question - there are probably hundreds of thousands of emails exchanged at a big law firm every day. I guess that would leave some sort of automatic monitoring that specifically targets recruiting-related emails, but I'm just skeptical that firms have actually implemented such a system. Wouldn't there be client confidentiality concerns with such an automatic monitoring system?
Some of us may think it’s bad taste and shows you are willing to obscure the line between private and professional. You job hunting is private. Your work email is work email.
They have it backed up and they definitely check after you give notice.
In case, you try to come back. Also, they back it up so if you had client emails they need, they can find them after you leave. Ask IT. They back them up.
Personal email imo
