Does Barclays give permanent work from home ?
Hi All!
I am currently a Senior Software Engineer(Backend) with 4 YOE. My current CTC is 21LPA (All Fixed) with additional Yearly bonus. I got a call from Google (Pune/Bangalore/ Remote) for Software Engineer - Backend. I have the following doubts but any insights are welcome -
1. Does the lower designation offered make any difference?
2. Kinda ambiguous, but what kind of hike or ballpark pay can I expect?
3. Any similar interviews experiences or focus areas I should prepare for?

This does prompt a conversation about firm money saved on operating costs that each employee assumes working from home. These are now bills increasing that once would not have been. Though we do save in gas and mileage for the commute.

Yup. My full Internet bill is covered by not commuting just four days out of any month, and that doesn’t include savings from any lunches I don’t buy that I otherwise would when I go to my office.
My bonus at pwc was $500 (tier 2) so this wfh payment was half my bonus. What a joke 😂

We got $10,000 and a house
I have news for you my friend, Maytag is Whirlpool 🤯
You know they’ll just deduct $250 from your raise/bonus this year, right? Deloitte pulled the same move with a $500 WFH subsidy right before our updated pay statements to try and placate people. Needless to say, it did not work.

D1 - You seem to be very wise. Tell those Deloitte and PwC partners how amazingly smart you are and that nothing escapes you

You guys are getting paid?
Nah. It’s all volunteer work
EY gave $300..
PwC is way too late. Other companies have already provided one time cash or furniture or allowed employees to expense off ... It’s more like reimbursement for the items that we have already purchased to support WFH.
Accenture gave me a pair of socks in return for my soul on this call center.

KPMG is giving everybody 1k, assuming you've been with the firm more than a year.
They mentioned it yesterday in the Advisory call. More info will come out next week but Carl spoiled it out for us. If you haven't been with the firm for 1 year it will be prorated.

We got a one-time $60 expenses meal.

I’m at a boutique that just offered $350 reimbursement for anything you’ve bought since March for WFH!

Even funnier the second time!
Accenture gave us nothing! Unless you had dependents. They did reimburse $100 a day for care when most daycares were closed for a few months.
Julie, we need WFH reimbursements!
I work at a boutique we had $300 per year previously pre-COVID that's now increased to $500 per year for the foresseable. It really does help.
They even gave suggestions like getting airpods, monitors, standing desks etc.
I really do value the consideration behind this, it's minor in the grand scheme of things, but any firm that does this deserves credit, it's quickly becoming the norm it looks like.
I used to work for PwC. Those were the days
