Hi Everybody,
I'm currently working as an outsource in Rapid Metro as Technical Assistant/Civil. I earned a Master degree in Water Resource Engineer after B.Tech in Civil Engineering. Due to Covid 19 I took job back in Civil sector even though I have a masters degree in WRE. It's been almost 6 months of constant applying and rejection and still I'm nowhere close to a job in my dream branch which is the Water sector.Im hopeful that through this portal I may find an entry level position in water

“I don’t know about this whole ‘no salary’ thing”
Lack of belief/passion about the importance of our profession, I guess that’s not a sign but you can notice the attitude pretty easily.
On that note, low emotional intelligence would be another. Like those kids with finance degrees that think our job only consists of spreadsheets and sharpe ratios come in and sound like a nervous 12 year old whenever they have to talk to another human
Not driven to be the best for others
Taking business refusals as personal rejection.
Overestimating the first year and under estimating the years 5+
Zero self improvement
Not swinging at every pitch
Worrying if you should set a minimum fee early
Not qualifying people before you see them
Thinking you need the customer
Telling them lots of things that you know.
Not asking amazingly good questions.
Worrying that you look too young
Not knowing anybody
I’m not a sales person
I’m a money manager
My recent mentee was not a self starter. He needed me to tell him to do everything, including show up to meetings on time.
If you need to be managed on an hour by hour basis......
Ha ha. That’s too true. Just because you can take a few classes, get your series 7....doesn’t mean that people will take your advice
