So glad the week is over (at least the scheduled portion) but it was a little too quiet

Anyone else get that kind of feeling when your week ends to smoothly? As in you’re just waiting for the other shoe to drop

Right, it's like the calm before the storm but the storm is supposedly over and I'm confused where all the work is 😆 like, did I actually do everything I was supposed to? Lol

Congrats!!

I only feel like that after I’ve put in my notice 😂🤣

I was literally feeling this way today. I was kind of waiting for the other shoe to drop right at the end of the day. I am thankful for the weekend though.

Yeah and now I’m just dreading what fresh nonsense is waiting tomorrow morning

Mine was kind of quiet too and I enjoyed it

Nice, only 1 full week left before a lil break 🤞

A question for recruiters with knowledge of Applicant Track Systems (ATS). Do products like Greenhouse show if an applicant has applied at other companies? I imagine not, as it would be a massive privacy violation if that was the case.

How do referrals work?
If I get a referral from someone and I apply, then can I still reach out to a recruiter on LinkedIn expressing interest in the role? And do I let them know that I already applied? I’m sure they get tons of messages so I want to write something that won’t be overlooked. Any advice is appreciated:)

Next week I’m having my first lateral interview as a junior associate. I’m very nervous because the group with whom I’m interviewing works with life science/tech clients and the attorneys have strong science/tech backgrounds; and I do not. However, I am very, very interested in transitioning to this practice. And I reaaally want this job because it’s at my dream firm. How would you recommend preparing for the lateral interview?

So as we were the first to get hit with COVID in NY, we are seeing declines in numbers now. Travelers are cut short of their contract, our hours are getting cut, and staffs are laid off. Got a call yesterday from HR that now staffs need to file for unemployment to compensate for the lost hours. We risked our lives for this fight, now they are letting us go. Shit’s fucked.

It is elementary that the development of a theory is based on completed and finished works or theories with a sufficient basis to be possible. But what were guys like Plato based on? He could only rely on what his mind told him. It must have been very difficult but at the same time, they were very brave in defending their ideas.

I understand the importance of citations. It's a wonderful way to show how your work builds on previous research. But sometimes I just want to write an article that says "I think this" without having to cite everyone who ever said that before me.
