Did you actually get another offer? I’ve seen this backfire with young creatives who faked having another offer and the company told them “That’s sounds like a great opportunity for you, best of luck!”
If you don’t have another offer but are desperate then state your case with hard facts (using numbers or data), take screenshots of compliments or accolades you’ve received and then go to your superior and explain why you deserve a raise. Fair warning - this may not work and you could be left stewing for several weeks or months while you explore other job opportunities until you can finally quit. But at least when you do, you can leave know you gave it your all. It’s absolutely ok to prioritize salary or career goals over nice people.
No one is going to take it personally that you want more money. Just make a case for the money and be ready to answer when they ask how much. If you think you’re worth more and they don’t, it’s time to move on. No one will take this personally.
It very often works, if they need you. With the job market being so hot right now, the chances are higher than ever.
However - if what it takes for you to get a raise is to threaten quitting, what does it say about the company and your long-term prospects? Are you going to do this every year?
I’m in the exact same spot you are in right now. I didn’t take the counter.

Have you helped drive revenue for the company? I think this is even more important since we’ve learned to work remote/could be in different markets
