Absolutely go to a dermatologist! This is what they’re trained to do and there are a lot of prescription products you might not have tried yet.
Hello, I have the same problem and the most effective thing for me has been retinol and a simple skin care routine. I was throwing every active at my skin trying to fix it, nothing was working and it made my skin very reactive and worse. Literally Cerave Gentle Clenaser morning and night, Differin (OTC retinol) 1x a week and gradually build up to every other day, then a simple moisturizer (aloe/water based are great), and a sunscreen for the AM. Once your skin starts to acclimate to retinol you can add back other actives to your routine (Vit c, acids, masks etc).
You can also try a dermatologist of course but personally I was gaslit by mine in my late 20s so I never went back. Early 30s and I still get breakouts around my cycle but overall my skin is 95% better with this routine. The derm just wanted to give me oral meds which only work short term and I’ve tried everyone on the books plus Accutane 2x.
I recommend seeing an esthetician. Dermatologists are quick to prescribe chemical treatments, oral medication and topicals. From my experience estheticians are more focused on getting to the root cause, tracking your progress, and helping you stay on track.
Disagree with above. Dermatologist know skin not hormones. Highly recommend going to a functional medicine doctor. I’ve been to 9 derms the last two years and countless meds to no avail. Your body should be assessed as a whole not distinct doctors for each part.
If you have not yet, try changing your diet for a healthier one, vegetables, fruits, minimize sugar, drink, lots of water, clean your pillow sheets everyday or turn it around every two days. I recommend exercising doesn't have to be insanely crazy however effective enough if you don't work out definitely give it a try who knows everyone's body is different. Cut back on processed creams I always just wash my face with cold water and tap dry my face so those chemicals are not supposed to be on your face. Also try some aloevera do some research on it and make sure to have proper sleep, if this doesn't not work then you may need to see one. Eat healthy and minimize salt processed foods if you can.
have you ever tried Rodan + Fields?? they are amazing!! I love the products!
My daughter had it sooo bad until finally her Dermatologist put her on this medicine called Minocycline. IT WORKED GOOD. She still have a bit ance scars but No more ance pimples or nothing came up and that was in 2018. I definitely recommend it
