From my experience, hostesses on the same shift split tips. But since you're also a waitress and did this order yourself, I think it's worth talking to your manager about the situation. You can push for clearer tip-splitting rules so no one gets shortchanged or confused next time. Transparency matters.
Yeah i have, she doesn’t understand and she is now being petty and saying i can’t take care of my Single regular that I’ve been waiting on for over a year every Tuesday, she’s playing with my money at this point, PURPOSELY.
I mean how would you feel if the roles were reversed? It was by luck that you happened to take that order, but you and the other hostess share the workload with taking orders and seating customers. If you both split tips on all other tips, then it's only fair to split that one, too. Otherwise, the other hostess should keep 100% of their own tips, too and you'd both be fighting for who takes to-go calls.
I totally understand where your coming from but i don’t think we are seeing eye to eye,
The orders that we split are online orders, when i first was hired (two years ago) they told me i can take orders under my name to make tips, and i have been doing that this whole time as a hostess, but all of a sudden if it’s a large amount it’s an issue.
Roles are always reversed, multiple times i have lost out on money due to waitresses taking To go orders while hostess are on shift, we don’t make a lick of money and the man said he wanted to give me something for helping him out.
I never have issues splitting the tips ever. It’s really not about money it’s the principle really.

I think clear rules on splitting tips should be established. It’s not fair to you or anyone else if they keep switching out the rules to suit themselves. They need to decide and stick with it!
