Solution Architects of USDC - how is your role in a project different from that of a Senior Solution Specialist?

I am an SSS. Been with the firm for 7 years at this level. I gathered that an SA gets paid only as much as I do. And does nothing more than I do on my project. I am wondering if there a point in asking for promotion to the next level.

Potential client owns eCommerce site selling graphic design caricature posters of celebrities from independent artist submissions. Is there name & likeness issues with client selling the posters w/o celebrity approval?

I've done so well in this new role within the company that they are hiring another person to assist with what I do. I've voiced to my boss that I'd like to manage this department and they indicated that this is the thought for the future. Now they are asking me to train this person while I have my plate full. Is it wrong for me to expect either a promotion or to be paid to train this person?
