Some green flags I’ve experienced when working retail are flexible hours and growth opportunities. Most retail stores that I have been working at has always accommodated my time off whenever I needed. I can’t forget the growth opportunities and being able to move up within the company. What are some green flags within your company that you value?

I work at a pretty small, locally-owned grocer and they actually pay us a genuine living wage. it's such a hard place to get a job because people never quit 😂 It's amazing how hard your employees will work for you if you treat them well.

Yes! It is a shame they are a dying breed. These good jobs are being bought out by big, awful companies.

I love that my voice actually makes a difference - often they will listed to concerns or suggestions.

I love that for you. It’s so important working for a company that values your opinions and concerns. This provides loyalty and trust from you and vice versa. I also feel the same way about the company I work for as well.

Recent lateral junior associate in brand new practice where I'm the only associate. I'm probably going to bill 1,500 hours max this year due to being very slow and taking time off for a delayed honeymoon which I disclosed during my interview process. I have been told my work product is good, I don't turn anything down, I participate in non-billable work, I'm responsive and I always let people know I'm available to help. Do I need to be worried about getting fired for low hours?

I have a Q that I worry is going to make me sound like a jerk, but want some opinions. I do strength training 2x/wk with a trainer who was assigned to me at a gym where I bought a pack of sessions. I don’t really consider myself “his” client bc the relationship is managed by the gym… but lately he keeps saying like “I can’t wait to see what my clients give me for Christmas” and I find it super awkward. I pay $150 per session for these workouts (cont’d in comments)…

I recently received an offer for 200k€ in Amsterdam. Includes travel, 30% ruling, holiday pay.

Any idea if that is enough to cover a mortgage on a flat within biking distance from the city center without over spending on housing?

How long is too long to try to push back a start date? Getting a formal offer early next week but trying to keep that big law bonus if possible. Firm pays out bonuses Dec 30 & I have a vacation scheduled Dec 19-23 (and was planning on working remotely the week after too). Ideally want to get EOY bonus or negotiate for a signing bonus but is it too much to push for signing bonus and those weeks off? I'm open to working remotely those two weeks but know that may not be the best when I start.

COVID policy for interns. How are you handling? Paid time off? Case-by-case? Are you sharing a specific policy (yes, I know it differs state-to-state)?

We are seeing more pushback from employees on working 40 hours. We offer flexibility (wfh), 11 holidays and another 3 wks PTO. Seems like a good gig, I think, at 40-45 hrs. Anyone seeing this too?

Interested in everyone’s opinions on replica luxury. I ask because, as noted in the previous thread re: Chanel’s price increases, the quality of authentic luxury bags is going way down while the price increases consistently. Specifically Chanel and LV. I’m fascinated in the online rep community and it looks like rep quality has increased exponentially (with genuine materials and 1:1 markings, stitching, hardware, etc). What’s your argument for or against replicas?
