Sometimes i talk to people and wonder “why the hell are you so arrogant about your job? You didn’t invent anything new and are not the first person to have a good job..” morning rant over

Ha - you sound like a horrible person.

Have a great day!

I think there's a difference between being arrogant and being confident in yourself, knowing you have a lot to offer, knowing that you have a track record of success, and signaling that you can get the job done because nothing is going to stop you from trying your best.

That being said, a person can be arrogant and will of those things, but who cares. As long as they deliver, people flaunt their feathers in different ways.

There’s one solution here: tape up those knuckles and start throwing punches

For some people (myself included), it doesn’t really matter if you’re inventing something new or “saving the world.” If I wanted to do that, I would have gone into research or medical. Because money is high up on my list of priorities, I believe I have earned the right to be arrogant (if I chose to be), because I’m making a a lot more than the majority (top 2%).

For some, it’s money; for others, it’s power, etc. Just because someone else’s values don’t align with yours doesn’t necessarily make them wrong.

Welcome to my world!

If I get laid off, I have a previous colleague that started a cybersecurity company. I would love to get involved on the business side of it. Any pointers on skills that are attractive in this realm for a startup? Would be mostly (if not all) federal defense contracting clients. I’m currently in Deloitte’s cyber risk practice but my background and passion is in accounting and finance, and business operations. Graduated in 2017 so still early career.

What time frame is used to measure our utilization metric? I'm pretty sure it's not our fiscal year, but sometime around April '16 - March '17?

So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. I have a whole bunch of certifications in my industry…but just no formal degree. (cont'd)
