How is ua brands company?
Hi Fishes,
Does Deloitte USI have any cool down period, if you apply and do not get any response from the company? I had previously applied in a role, but didn't hear back from them. So, I'm planning to try to apply via referral this time and I'm wondering if I should use the same e-mail ID or a different one! Deloitte USI

When is the good time to tell the company that I am 3 months pregnant. My date of joining is 18th of July. I understand by law I need to finish 80days with the company before I avail maternity benefits which I can easily do in next 3 months.
I want to understand if women who go on maternity leave during probation are treated differently or if there will be discrimination once I let them know about my situation. Wipro Accenture Allstate Quantiphi analytics pvt ltd.

The answer is never Goodwin, unless you’re interested in the worse of the two options.
They over hire then do layoffs in a never ending cycle.
Cooley - probably one of the best firms for tech/vc
Zero doubt about it. Cooley refused to fire an associate when Elon Musk demanded it and Elon Musk fired them and they didn’t back down. Goodwin would have never done that. Goodwin would have fired the associate and everyone that worked with the associate probably.
All firms are bleeding partners right now because of the insane lateral market.
Didn’t know that! Props to Cooley
As a current Goodwin associate, I would have to agree Cooley (although the partners who just joined from Cooley in our tech group are apparently a clown show)
´
Cooley. I see no reason for anyone to ever go to Goodwin.
As someone who works across from both firms very regularly: Cooley.
(1) Are they generally good at their job? Do they generally know what they're doing, get the details right, etc. (2) Are they generally reasonable to work with as opposing counsel? — I would answer yes to both of those questions for Cooley, and no to both of those questions for Goodwin. I am generally happy enough to see Cooley pop up opposite and Goodwin elicits an eye roll and an "ugh here we go I guess." This is all just my experience of course but I regularly work across from both firms (senior in ECVC) and have plenty of data points that create this general impression. So if I were looking to lateral I would give Cooley and a couple other firms a call and probably wouldn't send a resume to Goodwin. All this is separate from other criteria to consider that would be important, however (e.g., the associate experience, growth opportunities, client base, office/geography, stability/layoffs), so not making any claim beyond the report of my own experience as described above.

okay I’m dead I didn’t know Cooley had so many Stans. Can someone who answered DM me to answer my questions lol
Yeah I’m not a Cooley stan, I just have enough friends who’ve had a horrible time at Goodwin to pick a firm I’ve generally heard semi positive things about from people

Probably a toss up, but Cooley is a bit of a mess right now at the partner level. At least Goodwin is more stable there. It also depends on what city and what practice group.
How so? What's goin on with partnership?
You’re picking between two awful places. One of them just happens to be a little less so (Cooley)
What’s a good place then in your opinion
avoid both if you can
Cooley
As a Goodwin alumnus, I relatively enjoyed my time there, though was just overworked. Though while I was there the firm didn't have rounds of layoffs like they've had since I've left...so can't say what it's like now
Oh wow had no idea...I see...that's a shame and I'm sorry to hear that
Cooley.
