Staff 1 to staff 2 raise % last year?

I was hired like 4 months ago , as a civil engineering technician (with my degree) , i was so happy to accept any offer that i can get since it’s my first job after graduation and i have no connections in the field,coming from Canada to Michigan, and with zero experience outside my school, now after i got some experience and 2 certifications that my company needs, i feel i am under paid , and i got a very good offer from a competitor , plus i feel shy to ask my boss for a raise now any advice?

Hey gang, lately I have been thinking if I got underpaid. Graduated from master school right after 2020 pandemic and started by 68K as UXD in digital sales company based in NYC. With 2 YOE the salary went up by 3% and 5% average promotion. Now it comes up to 75K w/ 6K bonus. What do you think of this? My manager honestly told me I was underpaid during 1-1 but since he was newly hired not long ago, he told me he has no solution at the moment. Thinking of starting a new position...

I have interviews coming up at BD in Maryland and, coming from the hospital world, I have no clue what salary to ask for. The position is a scientist/quality role for microbiology research and development. For context, I have 4 years of experience in a hospital blood bank and am a certified Medical Laboratory Technologist. I was thinking in the 65-70k range, but the recruiter made it seem like that was easily attainable so I’m worried I’m asking too low. Would 75-80k be do-able?

Had a salary hike in April this year and now looking for promotion and my manager is ready to promote right away but without salary hike as i already had 2 salary hikes this year but will get that hike for promotion in salary in next April.
Other option manager is saying is to take promotion in April next year along with salary hike. Which one should i chose.

Has anyone heard of a retention bonus with a clawback period of 3 years? Like you get paid in 3 installments but you have to pay back 100 percent of the money if you work a day less than 3 years?

Hey there quarantine fish! How is the salary at EY for an SM (7.5 YOE + Tier 1 Canadian MBA).

Just got an offer that I want to take. They told me that the role is full-time, full benefits, includes equity, and is a much higher base salary than I currently make (+50%). But for some reason the role is paid out hourly. AKA a minimum of 40 hours a week at the rate of the salary / (52 * 40) then anything above that I get overtime. Why would they do this? What is the downside? Aren’t they paying me more with this setup than I would have taken if it was just salary? What am I missing?

Any Spring boot experts here, trying to build a few apps ASAP to get familiar. Any tips would help!

Is it feasible to push from promotion from SM to D with under 1 years tenure at the firm, or would that not be entertained? Opportunity in the team, SM grade is over staffed with more coming in, no Directors, and have been high performer (based on metrics, sales and developed strong network)
