We had an intern refuse to get dinner during busy season, stating that it wouldn't build value in his learning experience.

Partner: "EY1, take time away from your work and write me a performance review on this intern so I can make an informed decision on giving him an offer"
EY1: *writes an honest review about the interns poor performance*
Partner: "No, not like that"

An intern deleted all of their work from 2 months from the client computer and then hid the recycle bin icon so we couldn't find it for a while

Staff 1 deleted entire audit engagement from Canvas. Took a week to get it back.

Pwc1. That's a valid excuse for intern though. He would know his value!

I had an intern who used to eat 3 lunches cause you know what makes you hungry and sleeps all the time. Was doing finance and software engineering from a reputed university and didn't know basics of anything. Our senior manager "EY SM" sitting in the small conference room emailed him for catchup. Mind you he was sitting next to him. The intern then asks me "hey EY1, who's this EY SM guy? He just emailed me. That dude wanna meet me For something important ".

Also everyone refused to write his reviews to be nom bias and I was given the duty since I was the least frustrated person. I wrote a medium review and was shot back by the partner saying it was too harsh. The guy still didn't get a job.

Staff 1 keeps bragging about number of hours worked. When we clearly work more than him

Summer intern mentioned to multiple people that he should be getting paid more. Okay...

Looking for advice: I have an analyst (9 months on the job) who still doesn’t get it - repeatedly misses comments, doesn’t follow instructions, slow, etc. I have raised this to both my MDs and they seem to be adopting a “not my problem” approach when I mention it. I had advised against hiring this analyst post internship and my MD insisted that all the issues I highlighted were fixable. I have tried teaching him to no avail and frustration with him is growing. Any suggestions for how to handle?

If anyone is interested in pursuing an IB summer internship for summer 2023, especially freshman and sophomores, recruitment and preparation season is NOW

How to approach it?
1) Network - send out coffee chat emails to alums or any professional at the firms you want to apply to
2) Prep technicals, behaviorals
3) Insights/Diversity programs - look for any that are still open and apply ASAP if you qualify, they can lead to an accelerated interview process
4) Find when apps usually open

Was hoping to get in Goldman Sachs as an intern of some sort. I have a blue collar background, I am a junior in college, going for finance. I would be open to any job as well. I am a very hard worker and I let my actions do the talking. Extremely self motivated. I own a small business, however, I am just growing tired of it. I have always wanted to work as an investor, so I enrolled myself in college 3 years ago. I have a wife and kids and I am no stranger to work. My work ethic is unmatched. Ty

I think my internship supervisor hates me, she called me “achiever” the other day. Whenever she gave me a task and I finish it, I receive no feedback at all.

The only thing that I’ve done that could’ve offended her is I showed a project I finished to her supervisor while she was trying to figure out how I can send the project to her account, I guess she was trying to take credit for it? Her supervisor said they have been waiting for years to do it so it was a big deal to them

I am a Web Developer based in Grand Rapids, MI. My primary focus is Magento development and managing / building the 7 sites my company owns. I do front and back-end development. I got a raise from $12.50 an hour as an intern to $22 an hour 6 months before I got my degree. I was happy with this raise initially. A year later, I am 6 months out of my degree and have 3 years of experience at this company. They gave me a 5% raise which puts me a $24 an hour. Is this fair considering I got my degree.

Can anyone help me with free resources to prepare for Data Science job applications and interviews. I’m currently doing an internship with Cummins and I graduate this December

Would anyone be open to being a reference for this policy job I’m apply to?

I’m a new grad whose been at my firm for about 2.5 (roughly 2 years as an intern and about 8 months full time) so all of the references I would use (I need 2-3) are at my current job but I don’t want them to know that I’m looking for other opportunities. Especially since I haven’t gotten any offers yet.

I’m more then happy to send someone my resume and cover letter to anyone who is willing to help me 🥹
