Got laid-off in November and started at a boutique firm two month ago and I'm just so bored. Work is boring and there isn't much structure for anything. Missing D today.
“About 200 UMass Memorial Health employees have been fired for missing the Massachusetts health care system's COVID-19 vaccination deadline.”
Is KPMG really doing mass layoffs? Heard rumors about their Canada operations especially.
Lately, for some reason, I feel like I’ve really hit a wall. I feel no motivation to do anything and constantly procrastinate until the last minute to work on an assignment. Then, I’d stress about doing a bad job and getting fired. This is a vicious cycle and I know that I should seek counseling. But beyond that, what else should I do? Has anyone experienced this before, and how did you get out of this cycle?
I think I might get fired today. Fml.

Question for the more seasoned consultants, these layoffs and overall downturn in our industry, is it an annual cycle? Or is this abnormally bad
What is up with these religious leaders?
Falwell Jr and now this guy Carl Lentz. Is Joel Olsteen also into kinky stuff?
Question for the bowl. What happens if you just quit/put in your 2 weeks before you’re laid off? Could you possibly boomerang at a later time? Want to know for future schemes.
For those companies / roles with unlimited pto, how does a payout work if you leave and /or are laid off? Receive nothing or some set amount?
Any ACN 🐠 have they latest on how they’re handling hiring freezes and potential layoffs? My husband applied and got interest. But now the leads have gone cold.
Last two days at Accenture, part of the laid off batch. Feeling something is missing in the todo list before I leave. Suggestions please.
Seeing couple of my mgr getting laid off after 15-20 yrs in the same company got me some panic attack, I got nauseated just to think of the instability, and what would I do in 15 yrs to secure a good future? I do not love what I do, but I cannot afford a fancy MBA, or start a CS master degree. no family money, work on visa(so I cannot leave my current job freely and they lowball pay me), saved up to get an condo couple yrs ago and still get some mortgage, 130k in savings including 401k.
Perhaps an odd question, but for those of you who’ve been laid off recently, did you tell your parents?
I was recently laid off due to covid (blah) and recently saw an open position at a firm that I would love to work at. I worked on an arbitration against this firm last summer (and won!) and Cont.

3 YOE at current company. Fintech.
I make $84.5k base now, but I’m hourly and made $92k last year.
Offered $90k for a business analyst role, no OT. It’s technically a Junior Product Manager role, but internally it’s in the system as a BA. I’ll be on the product team.
I have zero leverage. I already work there, it’s a promotion. It’s technically a 7% raise from my current base. It’s a fantastic opp, now I can gain experience in Product.
My wife’s school system is having all of the teachers do this. Nothing like pushing a viewpoint that you are either privileged or oppressed with no in between. The quote at the bottom is great...
Currently in DC and have an offer with JP Morgan Chase in Delaware. Want to live in Philly. Prefer quieter with more quaint/historic vibe. Chestnut Hill etc is too far away. What are some other areas?
I’m a soon-to-be second year associate who is getting his very first yearly performance review in a month. Any advice on how I should be preparing for that review? I’ve been saving all the work I’ve had redlined by my supervisors and know pretty well what my strengths and weaknesses are, but I’m not sure how someone is supposed to prepare for this kind of thing.
Deloitte: “You own your career.”
Me on a horrible Project: “Hey, M, I’m miserable, not growing and found a new project. Can we put together a roll off plan?”
Deloitte: “No not like that.”
Those days when you are freaking out about a project...you come to FB, read the posts then do not feel so awful.
Say what you will about the return to office, but I’m snacking a lot less. I can’t be the only one who walks to the kitchen at home every hour for a mental break.
Me in every engagement
What are peoples thoughts on buying a house on an FHA with minimal down payment? Don’t have a ton of free cash but am doing well in consulting currently, additionally my fiancé is about to start as a PA with a very nice salary.
