You need to network and have a reputable entity with connections to potential employers vouch for you. That could either be some sort of job training / placement program with direct connections to potential employers, a university’s co-op / internship opportunities for their students or knowing a respected member of an organization that would be willing to give you a referral.
If your plan is to be another resume in a stack of hundreds these employers likely receive for the same position, you’re going to have a bad time. You need to know someone.
Just because it may be entry level posting does not mean that experienced techs are not applying. I was let go from my employer and after a few months I started applying for anything and everything to include entry level positions and I have 20+ years in the IT and cybersecurity industry. The tech field is difficult and as IOS Developer 1 stated; you need to network as that seems to be the only way these days.
The only way I got a job offer after thousands of applications was with a company where I knew 3 people working there that pushed for me and after 4 applications and a round of 4 interviews; I got an offer.
It tough but keep grinding
With the current drought in tech entry level positions it’s tough out there without a stellar cv - as first response said, you almost gotta know someone, be it through networking or common interests, and have them refer/recommend you. The more cold hard facts that you’re skilled and can deliver good quality, whether it be through a GitHub, portfolio or website, the better. Good luck
