In the summer, there’s thunderstorms. In the winter, snow storms. Delays are constant 🤷♀️
Dang that’s a lot of different states on one project OP. Rest wel
Thunderstorms have been particularly bad over the past month or so on the east coast
Flew for 50 weeks between ORD-LGA. The return leg of LGA was on time 7 times in 50 flights. #consultinglife
This is normal for those airports in summer. I had a client in NJ and 100% of my flights were delayed, many of those 3 hours or more, with an additional 45-60 min wait on the tarmac after boarding. Avoiding afternoon or early evening flights (when thunderstorms are worst) may be one way to try to dodge the bullet
Normal when the weather is stormy enough to delay flights. Cities? Airline? (These are the important details)
A1- you can fly more than twice in a week
Y’all are lucky you don’t fly out of Orlando. Afternoon thundershowers every day
Yeah I’m originally from the West Coast so I was wondering if this was a normal East Coast thing. Traveling Delta and United between EWR, LGA, TPA, ATL, and DEN
So you’ve had 10 flights, so 7.5 of those flight were delayed?
East Cost gets bogged down in Traffic and thunderstorms, Den gets bogged down with weird weather patterns. Yeah it happens.
There’s a peak travel season from May-Sept where delays are much worse than usual
LGA causes national backups due to the unique location of the airport. Have been on many delayed flights due to an incoming delayed flight out of LGA. Also it’s just the worst.
Evening thunderstorms can be very intense on the east coast/south. If possible, consider rearranging hours you fly
You guys have droughts and wildfires, we have thunderstorms and floods🤷🏻♂️
It’s the summer in east coast. You have to wait it out til fall. Storms calm down. You’re good til snow
Lol M1 more like, has this summer been particularly bad for flight delays or is this normal
Yes,
High percentage of my flights to/from LGA and EWR are delayed
@PWC2 that is horrendous. Any recs for airlines or NYC airports that are best? @ACN1 16 flights actually ☹️ and I didn’t include all the airports, just the ones I flew to multiple times
Basically seems like this question is do airlines normally delay flights due to bad weather?
