I had my last round of interview (3rd round) 3 weeks back in Citi and my hiring manager told me that recruitment process is fast in Citi so you will hear from HR very soon for the next step but HR is not responding my phone and email. My profile is showing under business review stage. What is the meaning of business review? How long should I wait for the response? I really need this job.

Now you have a bit of client side perspective. Use that to super charge your ability to ask questions, look for ways to help your clients stay one step ahead, and empathize with them. Resist the urge to “act like a client” to your new agency colleagues though. Instead look for ways to genuinely help and encourage them deliver work that works. You’ve got this!
Great advice. Thank you!!
Like the response of VMLY&R! Done that myself and actually it was a good set of knowledge at the table. Agency people tend to make fun of clients as they sometimes come up with a bit „funny“ ideas and processes (which are a bit weird sometimes 😅). However, they also have different constraints than agencies and need to deal with a whole bunch of other stuff that oftentimes lead to these „weird“ behaviour. Now, build that knowledge inside your team, but also use your client side skills to actually be closer to your client, educate it, show them that you‘re the one who knows both sides and gain trust. I guess that after a year of being away it‘ll not take long to get knee deep in agency life again! You‘ll see: 2 days in and you‘ll start tk feel again the „agency life“!
Thanks for the advice - all great points!
Would love to hear what brought you back? Were you at a publicly traded brand? What kind of role?
VP social strategist at a publicly traded brand. Unfortunately the WLB was significantly worse than my prior agency (thought I’d be the opposite!). I think I ultimately prefer the vibe of agency life and working across different brands
You got this 👏🏾👏🏾
Thank you!!
As an AD, depending how leadership structure (who is above and below you and how many), I would first familiarize myself with your client’s biz, second the agency’s unique offering (if they are in fact that) and how they use that as a point of differentiating their operating model (ie: do they pitch, have large retainers, specialize in a specific growth-stage/size/industry/etc clients). Shortly after that, I’d start having super transparent conversations with your leadership on what the expectations of you are (beyond the job description) and explicit action items that follow. Grasp for clarity both from Agency and your client and take your perspectives duality to achieve it.
Thank you!
