What do you do as a Tech Director at PwC? If most of the projects are implementation based around system/ infrastructure and not utilizing future technologies like cloud, and AI that could be holding you back...
Also why not learn a new skill or change industries so that your skills are aligned with the future of technology
When you say tech is hottest skill, what skillset do you have? PhD in AI or CS isn’t same as Workday/infra implementation
Do you like the data side more? Would you want to become a Data Scientist or Architect?
In almost all of my projects i have noticed that Directors are hands-off. They are primarily client facing and focus on sales than delivery. May be sharpening the delivery aspect will help
Take those skills elsewhere. You can always boomerang back

I don't think you know what 360 means...
I have always found the ratings that show what you perceive to be your skill level vs what your employees, peers, and leads perceive it - to be one of the most insightful metrics
A lot of my peers at google cloud were senior managers, cios, directors in their previous role. All of them have it up in order to get closer to the tech as architects.
All of them are much more satisfied
Maybe it's time to reskill and get back into the weeds
Yeah or go somewhere where being in the weeds is valued.
