The interns are coming! I believe in paid internships and giving them responsibilities where they can see the impact of their work. How are internships structured where you work?

I think we're like a lot of companies, our interns are essentially office helpers. They serve as phone screeners or messengers and often get stuck running a printer. I would love to give some of them more responsibility, but there's a real resistance against letting them do too much. Like at most offices, there are stories of times an intern was given some responsibility and it did not go well.

Our internships are like entry-level positions, because they could be potentially hired. So they get exposed to real work.

I would love intern ideas that aren't boring. I want to help someone have something to talk about. If not anything else, at least something nice to say about our company.

I try to keep interesting, but they do lots of the boring stuff too. It’s not my job to entertain them, but create realistic expectations.

Round or exact numbers on banners/LPs? I was curious about this since in negotiations for example or pricing it's better to have the exact number. But if you have a case study, for example, is it better to say "Client X increased their revenue to 1,000,000 ARR" instead of "Client X increased their revenue to 987,500 ARR" ? Anyone has seen any impact on conversion rates?

I recently accepted a job that I quite overqualified for because I’m in need of a job. I got hired as a Marketing Manager and work directly with the Marketing Director. Come to find out my director is still in school and has absolutely no marketing experience. She’s been with the company for 4 months. They seem to want to utilize my complete skills set and make up for her lack of marketing knowledge but maintain her position as director and pay me a entry level marketing manager salary. Advice?

Facebook Ads after iOS 14 changes.

I'll share my experience and urge you to share yours:

Since iOS 14 changes, Facebook ads isn't the same anymore. Why?

A. >75% iOS users denied tracking. They are no longer tracked across websites/apps. Facebook lost its edge.
B. Targeting and conversion tracking aren't as effective anymore.
C. Many advertisers have been migrating their budgets from Facebook to Apple and Amazon ads.

What's your experience? Let's all learn.

I’m interviewing for a start up and the role sounds interesting. Usually for the “test” part of the interview I’ve had to analyze data. This company wants me to develop a growth strategy that outlines key initiatives for growth, different opportunities, experiments I’d run, KPIs, and working cross-functionally.

Is this a lot for an interview?

I’m a little afraid of doing all this work to then just have them take my ideas and not hire me.
