The meme's funny, but do government attorneys truly have it that much easier? What are some of the pros and cons from your experience?

Yes, yes, we do. I still do a bunch of work (litigation), but without worrying about billing and office politics, the actual legal work is a breeze.

LOL! I’m a government attorney and I wish that I had that kind of time on my hands! My time is stretched thin during the majority of the week because I try to avoid working on the weekends. The pros are that I’m able to cut things off at 5:00 when I don’t have deadlines or I’m not prepping for hearings. Also, my managers are really easy to work with. I was diagnosed with breast cancer a few months ago and they were very supportive. The con is that it’s less money than BigLaw.

I said I’m able to cut things off at 5 when I don’t have deadlines. That happens from time to time. Not as often as I’d like, but it does happen. I rarely work weekends because I will work past 5:00 when I have to. It really depends on what my Lit calendar looks like.

What do you guys think about apps like BetterHelp and Talkspace? I understand they might have real therapists working on their content, but a lot of the marketing I see is so vague and broad that it feels like a lie. Just seems a little fad-like and money grabby to me. Thoughts?
