I've been told by a manager in my group that transferred offices - your best bet is to try to get it structured as a firm initiated move. You'll get moving expenses and more of a pay raise. That's what he did.
LA office? Yikes... Not sure about salary but the office is super crowded. Won't matter if you're not in Tax I guess
EY2 - Did your manager share with you on how to "structure a firm initiated move?" I'm also thinking about transferring office. Thanks.
All he said about it was that he was close with a couple of the higher ups in his group, told them of his intentions he wanted to relocate to Dallas and those people reached out to the Dallas group here and our partner here helped initiate it. He had mentioned it's about getting a person in the office and group you want to transfer to and one in the office you're currently in to help make it firm initiated. Usually if there's someone in your office that can help make the connection in the one you want to go to, I think that would be best. They obviously won't be against it even if it's just you wanting to do it since we just had two others transfer offices but they weren't firm initiated so they didn't get reimbursed moving expenses and I don't believe they also got much of a raise either to move and for the cost of living adjustment.
