Hi there, I’ve been told that Deloitte (London, UK) is going to make me an offer but haven’t heard back and it’s been over two weeks. The recruiter mentioned it would be around the “m2 grade”. Any idea what this pay range is? … I have 3 YOE working in NHS finance and have applied for a position in Risk Advisory, public sector. Curious what life at Deloitte is like? Does a work life balance exist?
Bain & Company Bain & Company Do you have any insights into what they are expecting in the second (last) round? I saw that there are two cases and a presentation. Are they more interested in professionalism than the "analytical" skills assessed in the first round? Do you have any more insights into the presentation?
Many thanks in advance

I think as long as you pay in full every month you should be fine, no? Not sure how significant of a spending bump would it have to be for you to qualify for those 20K points. Think if your expenses double all of a sudden it could trigger some flags tho.
Source: had amex, made it my main spending card and credit score was intact. In fact, over time it went up as i was repaying in full every month.
No my went up, also happy to refer so you get 30k instead of 20
No problem, drop me a DM
You are correct… in essence your credit score will go down unless you have an alternative credit card with a set limit… this is because AMEX is a charge card without set limit and credit rating companies use a metric based on % utilisation of credit card limits…. This means that if you have no alternative credit card and spend £3k on your AMEX, Experian (or any other per se) will see you as having a negative utilisation…
Gold rewards are not necessarily very attractive so would suggest you exploring other options (e.g Chase debit card currently gives you 1% cashback) or other reward cards.
New gold Amex cards are exclusively credit cards now in the UK. Only Plat and legacy gold charge cards now.

If you’re keen to maximise the points opportunities I’d recommend the guides on HeadforPoints (a blog) -
Note that if you take out an Amex Gold card you’re barred from earning any further sign up bonuses from Amex cards in the next 24 months (with one exception being the Premium Plus/Black BA card)
I wouldn’t need additional cards (I don’t even need this one tbh, just want the points cos why not) but thank you for your pointer :)
Pay it off in full each month and you’ll be fine. Also Amex tend to give you a hefty credit limit so likely your utilisation as a % of your total available credit across all cards will drop, even with the increased spending. Have had the gold card for a couple years now and only seen my score increase
Your credit limit will likely start at whatever you ask it to be… assuming your household income can accommodate it. Amex are pretty generous on that front.
Assumption, but as an EM you should easily get £25k+ credit limit if your credit score is as good as you said
My credit score went up, although the only thing to do is to make sure you pay balance due in full, every month.
Happy to refer you if needed

My credit score went down when I got an Amex but not sure if it’ll be the same for you (apparently it shows that you rely on credit more)

An Amex Gold earns you 20k/30k Membership Rewards points (or Avios, or 30k/45k Marriott Bonvoy points if converted)
BUT…
if you took out a Bonvoy Amex card you could earn 20k/23k Bonvoy points
or the Nectar Amex if you care more about Nectar
AND
You could then still apply for a Platinum card 30k/50k or more Membership Rewards points
AND
You could still apply for the BA Premium Plus card earning at least 40k Avios and potentially a 2 for 1 flight voucher (super valuable)
Whereas taking the Gold now would preclude you from maximising points opportunities
Amex cards refund the fees pro rata (and you can use/keep the points) if you cancel, so if you want to accumulate a lot of points follow something like the above, earn the welcome points and cancel. You can downgrade from Platinum to Gold if you want to keep a card open after, or use the BA card to earn the 2 for 1 flight voucher
Feel free to DM me! Also very pleased to refer for the higher bonuses
