I was talking about this just the other day with my butler on my yacht.
Does FIRE mean living like a hermit to you?

There are multiple good paths to fire - earning a lot, managing expenses, entrepreneurship. No one right or wrong.
I mean, FIRE IS rich people’s problems lol
If you’re financially independent and retiring early, you’d be “rich” by most people’s definition.
You get rich right before you FIRE
Guys guys, I have $50M in the bank, what do I do??? FIRE DINK, LCOL
Step 1: Hire me as your “money guy”

While I do see some of the FatFIRE-level humble bragging more often, I think FIRE is still at its core 25x - 50x your annual expenses in assets. 25x is bronze. 37.5x is silver. 50x is gold. Essentially at 50x, you can probably never outspend your assets.
Hmm interesting perspective. I don't really see that in this bowl at all. I see people asking genuine questions about FIRE.

SM1 - if a two income household and further in career, $500k HHI isn’t going to be that uncommon for the types of careers many on FB have. This bowl tends to be skewed towards fat fire and higher earning careers because that is an over-represented segment on FB. You also have a wide age range here. $500k HHI and $3m (or whatever) NW is going to be much more achievable for a couple in their mid 40’s than someone in their 20’s. And I would say that doesn’t qual them as rich or take away the need to manage expenses and plan carefully for retirement.
