Happy Sunday. For some reason, it’s 4:20 somewhere.

I have an offer as Technical Manager in Mindtree India . I have about 12 years of relevant experience in Java application development and mentoring and team leading. They said it is an onsite role with Mindtree Germany ( already done with client interview). My India salary is decent as per Indian market standards.Any idea how much will they offer me as Germany salary for the onsite role? Is it the same like other MNCs - TCS , Infosys, HCL,Wipro etc? Or how much I can ask? Mindtree

Moved back to India this December for same reason. Only to realize that I can't work in screwed up Desi companies and also that wife and kids feel out of place and also to find out that parents who earlier wanted us to move back so hard siad that it was purely my decision to move back and they didnt really wanted us to be back for them.
Now I am stuck in a stupid company, with relatively uncivilized surroundings, lost my L1 visa and in middle of a slowdown.
Think hard, take a collective decision. Not just emotions.
Sorry, my post might sound very one sided. But wanted to provide this perspective.
Thanks A1. What are some of the adjustments that you are having to make work culture / expectations wise?
Relocate to home country for a few years, spend time with family. But also build and maintain enough network here in the USA to allow yourself a shot at coming back if that’s what you really want in the long term

No one else can make this decision other than yourself. I would suggest that you introspect deeply - even if you had citizenship (you can't sponsor on a gc), would your parents like to be uprooted and brought into a foreign country at their age? They will likely miss their social circle very badly and moreover, be limited to public transport here which would be immensely frustrating. Do you have siblings in India? Do your parents have relatives living close by? Do they have friends they can trust in a situation?
🥺 made a similar post yesterday. Can an adult help here please
Crappy work environment. I was pointed out for leaving before my boss. Unmotivated peers, who don't want to work. Non existent people/HR policies.
I joined an Indian firm, ensure that you (if you move) join a non India led MNC.
On personal front, even the schools here which are shitty, no infrastructure at all, still they make parents go around for admissions. Start scouting for schools almost 6-8 months in advance.
Keep overall expectations low. It will be a big step down professionally and individually. I do understand that it might be overall good for the extended family. But evaluate this carefully.
Moving to Canada , yes that pay cut is worth spending time with parents
Approx what % haircut in salary does one typically take moving from US to Canada?
Any other ideas besides moving to another country?
