I’m worried I made a huge mistake lateraling. I was really unhappy at my last firm and made a move for slightly better QOL and better work. But it’s so hard to start remotely and get to know new personalities. Does anyone have any tips or positive stories to share?

I see so many posts about going in-house and wonder if it’s a possibility for me at some point or if my chosen career path has pretty much closed the door on that, since I mostly see people discussing this in the big law bowl. I do (mostly plaintiff-side) employment lit at a small firm. Are there any in-house roles where the skills I’ve acquired would be useful? I was a teacher for 4 years and transitioned into the corporate world. I have 6 months experience in marketing and that’s what I currently do, but plan for a lateral move in the future. I’ve seen suggestions of 3-7 years experience - does my teaching experience factor in? Or should I consider the 3-7 years only of my corporate time? Or is an MBA sooner a good move because of my big career transition (and future lateral)?

My long term goal is to go back to consulting more of a business advisor from a strategy perspective
Here is my question
Would MBA be any good for me especially looking at strategy side?
I don’t want to spend $200K and would probably go online MBA in a mid tier school. Are those any good?

ECs: founded social enterprise, journalism (on health, environmental inequities etc) at top pubs, published academic research, 4 yrs volunteering as advisor for social entrepreneurs. Recs good not amazing.

ST career goal = social impact VC; LT = social entrepreneurship.

Had a phone call last week with T15 adcom inquiring if they had additional merit funds. Adcom said she would pass my name to scholarship committee and would only hear back if I was granted more aid. She did say she would follow up with me as we got closer to deposit deadline (end of month). Should I email her for a follow up or schedule another phone call or just wait for her to follow up with me?
