[query] Is it a good idea to say a firm No due to medical reasons to a new night shift project I'm hired in?Accenture
I recently got a night shift project (2 days ago) that requires me to work from 10:30pm till 7:30am
I'm not comfortable with these timings and I'm thinking to ask my manager to put me on Bench (Due to medical reasons that involve mental health)
Is it a nice idea to say a firm No to a new project I'm hardlocked into, due to night shifts?

She has been working on the filing and she files it when it is due. What’s the problem?
Ok well this is some additional context that is not in your original post. If this is what happened then yeah I agree with you now.
Oof…then when they send it to the assistant and she’s clocked out for the evening.
It's e-file so attorneys do it. I got texts while I was putting my son to bed with questions on the procedure for this particular file. My four year old said, Mommy, tell them you work too much and are getting a headache and have to sleep. 😂😂😂 Don't worry, I answered the questions. I'm not a monster.
What is the deadline for the filing?
She took the day off today without telling anyone. But I don't think there will be any tangible repurcussions. It will come up in her review. The partners won't view her as a team player. I don't think she cares.
The lawyer I originally worked for and who trained me fired associates for typos. For a transgression such as this, your office would have been cleaned out for you before you returned from the “errands“.
Yikes. That sounds like a place that would cause some serious anxiety. To be clear, I don't think that should ever happen! When I was an associate, I felt empowered to set boundaries and stand up for myself. But I would never yell at a partner who is sick with COVID and caring for a sick daughter that I'd handle the filing *due today* after my personal errands. As the partner, I'd be so anxious all night until the next morning, wondering if it was going to get filed.
