I’ve worked at AT&T as a sales consultant for 6 years and 8 months where we prospect, uncover, and close on leads. I’ve used Salesforce for the past 4 years during my tenure. I’ve done B2B sales where I’ve received awards for it for 2 years consecutively. Loads of troubleshooting, uncovering needs through consultative styled selling, and tech app subscriptions.
I was wondering if I have the necessary skills to transition into a tech sales role. If so, what would be the best role/fit for me?Amazon Salesforce Google @

Depends on the role and team, and what career path and trajectory you’re looking for. I’ve been working at Slalom—technically Slalom Build—for a few years now and honestly have looked into other jobs, but nothing compares to my growth opportunities here. I’ve had great exposure, career growth, and mentorships. But I will say, Slalom is all about what you put into it and making your voice heard. If you’re someone who keeps their head down and expects people to notice your work without speaking up, then you may find career growth here a challenge. And if you notice your work life balance isn’t what you want it to be, you’re responsible for speaking up about it. People are super willing and supportive about making your employee experience the best it can be, but again, you have to be comfortable speaking up. Also, it’s hiring season. So pretty much everyone is looking to grow teams right now.

It’s normal for firms to keep the pipeline warm and network with potential candidates. Given you’re currently internal and not in Consulting, the question is - Do you want to work in consulting? Or are they recruiting for internal role? Only you can determine what’s worth your time.

Curious as well
They pay lower than big4 but wlb is better from what I have heard

OP is in an internal role, doesn’t make the same salary as Consulting folks so this firm could potential pay more, depending on role
How long ago did you interview with Slalom? My assumption is that the delay is due to the holidays and the fact that Slalom slowed hiring in many markets last year. Many markets are beginning to ramp up hiring again.
4 years ago! It’s been a while and they said I was a good fit based on all my interviews but the timing wasn’t right because they were still growing their business
There’s a ton of staff aug at Slalom unless you’re a data scientist. There’s some OE and CRM work that is a bit more transformational, but otherwise it’s almost all temp work/project management, moving data from one place to another, or individual contributor roles.
I’d recommend BAH if you are open to less pay than Big 4 (ceiling) but the best wlb. For one, you’ll prob make more at Booz if you are mid career. If you are 15+ yrs, probably better off elsewhere as our govt contracts determine the salaries.
