Hello guys,
Today I had salary negotiation with
Capgemini , they are offering 15 lpa with 10% variable. I feel this is a bit low based on current market standards. I asked for 20 initially, but they are not willing to go beyond 15 without any counter offer. HR flat out rejected 20 saying business will not approve. what is the max they will give after providing counter offer? And if i join around November, when will i be eligible for next appraisal? They are offering c1 band.

I’m in an interesting dilemma. Very interested in leaving my company, but I am also going through IVF. I know most new jobs require a year wait before you can go on maternity leave. Does anyone know a great company to work for that does not require this? Obviously, I’m getting a bit ahead of myself, but if this works, I don’t want to accept a job and not be paid for maternity leave because I am doing this solo. Appreciate all the help!

Bonus question: What are important questions I should ask when interviewing with a startup?

For me a typical day looks like this
9 am- sign in and check emails
930-11 : look for a new job

3-4:30 - proposal work if I have it or more job hunting

Additional Posts in In-House Counsel

I’m new to in-house and I begin in January. I wanted to basically better understand M&A and all the inner workings of expanding the scope of a business into new avenues. Does anyone recommend a book or two that may be relevant/helpful? On amazon, I see “The Art of M&A” and “Working With Contracts”. Thank you for any insight.

After you moved in-house, how did you get more comfortable reviewing contracts or counseling on issues you weren’t super familiar with? I was very specialized at my law firm and took a similarly specialized role in-house….but I still get requests to mark-up types of agreements that I never touched at my firm. I’ve been trying to find CLEs to get up to speed, but I’m wondering if this is generally something that gets more comfortable with time…

I'm a first yr attorney at an insurance firm and am in the process of interviewing for an in-house position at a tech company. The position is pretty much generalist, but I get the impression I'd be working mostly on SaaS and partnership transactions. Salary check. I am currently an in house attorney. 12 YOE. Large company with great coworkers doing regulatory work for the insurance industry. Good work life balance. I live in a high COL city. Out of curiosity and to test the market, I interviewed at a FAANG. Did not get the job, but found out TC was 350k, significantly higher than my TC 230k. I thought I was compensated fairly, but would love to see your thoughts.
