Blows my mind looking at some of sales guys’ OTEs at my series C SaaS company. They work 35-40 hours a week, get steady lead flow from demand gen and make $200k/year. Wild stuff
It still is - I’m in StratOps at a non-FAANG enterprise tech sales (cloud infrastructure) company and I’ve seen single deal commissions payouts for $300K+ ... and top performers can close 3+ deals like this in a year ... but that’s maybe the top 3% of sellers.

Sales is not easy but if you are good it is very rewarding.

On the not easy note microsoft and databricks probably spent 2 years trying to get me to buy stuff before I actually did. And I was a willing buyer. Significant politics involved when dealing with large orgs.
