If you were entry level trying to get foot in door then yes do it. Sounds like you're an experienced professional so no.
It will get you the job quickly...
Why not all 3 exp, degree, and certs. Work for me :)
Certs offer little value outside of public sector work bc they have it as a requirement before u can be added to a contract. Doesn’t hurt in commercial, but if u can’t speak to it from a tech perspective, nobody will hire u. It’s good to learn, but other than that, I’ve never seen much value in certs. I’ve actually seen it hurt ppl bc the standard is higher. For example, I’ve seen CCIEs get ripped apart bc they were held to a higher standard and then looked like frauds. In short, good for study material, but experience will trump all certificates in this space
Yeah, I have quite a few of the certs already, but don't know much about the 8 course programs the universities offer.
Yeah won’t get you that sexy new job or anything, but if it helps you learn something new, certainly worth doing. Booz would help dent it too, think u guys get 5k/year towards that stuff
Also I’ve seen ppl put Georgetown on their resumes bc they did a PMP course there or something. Honestly, just looks desperate, everyone knows it’s not the same thing as getting a degree from that school. Once you’re asked about it in an interview, it doesn’t look great.
Industry certs over universities. Save time and money!
But if you’re looking for status and luxury then go for it
